Arsalan, I guess has made it true the other way round!
It's now a thing of the past that on hearing Arsalan someone would ask " Seven Point Crossing or below the AJC Bose Road Flyover?"

These Days you have to be specific, 'coz they have come up with no less than Eight! outlets in various parts of Kolkata. & each of them are not just small outlets but rather 3 to 4 storied buildings with the blue Arsalan glo-sign on the facade. Its another fact that you are sure to find an outlet of Aminia within 100-200 meters, which will leave you wondering "Which one came first? Aminia or Arsalan?" Sorry, my bad! " Egg or Chicken?"

Jokes aside,

Its a relief that the mughals not only lived up to their reputation regarding masonry skills but also excelled at their culinary skills. No wonder Arsalan never fails to match its reputation regarding the food irrespective of which outlet one visits.

This outlet is situated on Jessore Road around 200 mtrs from Diamond Plaza when you are headed towards Lake Town/ Kalindi. The Four storied building on the left is hard to miss. In the ground floor they have their take away counter.The air-conditioned dine in is on the first floor. Seating area is spacious, which can accomodate upwards of 50 people. I am not sure but they probably have a second seating arrangement on the second floor too.

Coming to the food, we ordered assorted chicken platter for starters, & special chicken biriyani for the main course.

The chicken platter consists of a total of 11 pcs of chicken & costs 400 rs without tax. Quite value for money considering the fact a total of 4 types of Kebabs are served. they are 3pcs each of chicken reshmi kebab, chicken tikka kebab & chicken hariyali kebab. Also served are two pieces of tengri kebab. Obviously thats quite a mouthful. Each kebab has its distinct taste & appearance. I loved them all.

As far as the biryani is concerned, arsalan makes one of the best biryani is town, hands down. But after finishing the starter we had a hard time finishing rather trying to finish the special chicken biryani we ordered.

The special biryani contains 2 pcs of chicken & 1 piece of egg along with the boiled potato & rice. Quantity of rice is plenty for two people , & this dish can be easily shared between two persons. Please note, the picture attached below was taken after the rice had been split into equal portions, so you can easily guess the quantity.

Overall the experience was good, or rather as one should expect from any Arsalan outlet. Staffs were courteous, service was prompt, food was good. Will definitely visit again.

P.S. they serve cold drinks @rs 15/ glass (200 ml), although choice may be limited.
