If you are a Bengali staying around Kolkata it's very unlikely that you haven't heard of 'Swissyum'. Yes, that same company which manufactures some of best quality crunchy snacks in eastern India. The company was started around a decade ago in Kolkata. From its manufacturing factory at Rajpur, Swissyum produces some truly mouth watering snacks which are available across the country.
However , not only do they supply 'Sholo Ana Chanachur', 'Mobile Muri', 'Dhania Badam' , 'Ginger flavoured Aloo bhujia' to the retail market, they have two brick & mortar shop near South City & one near Kasba which are doing something innovative. Called 'Swissyum Concept Foods', these shops specialises in preparing custom made bakery & dessert items. Adding a seasonal touch to the traditional items, they have managed to produce nolen gurer cakes & pastries with diced mango, which have been a huge hit among the regulars to the place.
Recently PanchPhoron was invited over to taste some of their exquisite desserts, & I got to taste some the most mind-blowing items I have ever tasted. Below is given, a short review of the items I tried.
People who are too conscious about health, whipped cream & sugars, sorry, you have reached the end of the post. People with a sweet tooth & eternal craving for all those sugary creamy things read on.

Mocha patties:
Well, this wasn't a dessert, but we just had to try it after reading so much about the same in other's reviews. Veg patties to me are generally a overdose of potato & some occasional paneer cubes & green peas. However this one was totally different. In fact from the first bite I couldn't really differentiate this from chicken patties where the meat has been minced very well. The flavour was really impressive. Surely recommended.

Tender Coconut 'Daab' Mousse:
Now this one was the most interesting of all the mousses that were there. A small tender coconut, its water drained is used as the container for the creamy dessert. An overload of whipped cream adorns the top of the coconut. But as you dig your spoon into the coconut you will be surprised to find how much cream it actually contains. & the unique thing is the mousse doesn't contain artificial flavours or scents. Rather it uses finely minced pieces of tender coconut meat mixed in the cream to impart those flavours & aroma. Surely it was one of a kind!

Coconut (Narkel) Mousse:
Prepared in the same manner as the last item, here the coconut meat is sourced from ripe coconuts. Also the mousse is served in a coconut shell with a slice of the coconut meat on top. This too was pretty flavourful & sweet; however the tender coconut one was just too perfect, hence I would rather recommend that.

Mango Mousse:
This is the seasonal dessert we tried. & my verdict is just visit the outlet before the season of mangoes is gone. Here too the fruit had been hollowed out from the top & filled to the brim with delicious whipped cream blended with finely chopped mango pieces. Prepared from the seasonal variety (& not the tasteless year round variant), this mousse was another huge hit among all that were present. Mangoes & whipped cream, could I ask for more!

Orange Mousse:
Now you might be wondering, how come orange mousse is being produced in summer months? There's a trick there. The winter oranges are dried & stored, which are used to prepare the creamy mousse. The outer hollowed out orange are actually of the 'all year round' variant which are not that tasteful. This way they have been able to preserve the taste & the look of the mousse. Similar to the previous items, the cream had blended orange pulp & grated zest in it, which gave it a fine texture & a great taste.

Gondhoraj Lemon Pastry:
There has been a recent trend of using gondhoraj lemon flavour in various items. I am not against that, surely I love the fragrance too much. However only few get it absolutely perfect. Swissyum can proudly claim their pastry does belong to that group. A layered pastry with generous amount of white cream & lemon jest in between & the top glazed with gondhoraj lemon jelly with a slice of the lime as garnishing this has to be one of the best pastries I've ever had. The smell is prevalent, while the tanginess isn't. That makes the perfect balance for a fine dessert like this. Absolutely recommended.

Mango Tart:
Mango Tart isn't something new; however this tart wasn't served in the usual small cookie cups. Rather it was served in a small edible bowl made of white chocolate. Topped up with cubed mangoes & garnished with another white chocolate wafer, this one was a delight to have.

Chocolate Tart:
Similar to the mango variant, this one too came in a small edible bowl of dark milk chocolate. Inside it was this too good to be true mix of white & choco cream with sprinkled caramelised sugar.

Mango Cone:
White chocolate cones filled with mango flavoured pastry crumbs, mango cream & topped with diced mango in mango jelly. Surely another overdose of mango. Still amazingly tasty like anything. It's quite like having a mango flavoured ice cream cone sans the chills you get when you bite into the ice cream.

Chocolate Cone:
Similar to the previous one, here a dark chocolate cone was filled with chocolate pastry crumbs; chocolate whipped cream & topped up with sprinkled chocolate. One for the chocoholic people, I would rather stick with the mango variant.

Thus ended the extremely sweet evening. The Mocha patties were outstandingly tasty. Loved each & every one of the desserts. Specially the mango & tender coconut ones. Of course other items were equally good too. At the end of the meet we were presented with a gift basket, which had items totally opposite to what we had been having throughout the evening. A cane basket full of spicy snacks like Aloo bhujia, chirebhaja, dhania badam, it was a mouth wateringly delicious even to look at. The snack baskets are available at the shops for sale & with a price tag of Rs 150/- it’s quite a steal deal and can be gifted to your near & dear ones.
Surely I am going back to Swissyum Concept Foods for some more of the Daab & mango mousses.
Till then
Happy Eating
Cheers
