This one was on my wishlist for quite a long time. Specially whenever name of biryani came up, someone was sure to swear that this belongs in the same league as Arsalan,Aminia etc. Even Zomato has this under 'Brilliant Biryani'collection. Now it was high time that I paid a visit.

Located near the now closed Orient Cinema, this one was quite easy to locate. They have non-ac seating in the ground floor, air conditioned seating inthe first floor. Accomodation is spacious, ambience isn't as attractive. Although the marble top wood tables & antique looking chairs manage to keep the nostalgia of bygone era alive I'm pretty sure a bit of planned lighting won't hurt the look.
Anyway the staff were attentive and we got a seat right away.
The menu is a standard fare for a mughlai restaurant. However I would have liked some more gravy items to go with the breads. The following are what we ordered.

1. Chicken Peshawari:
Pieces were soft, but i found the chicken to have inadequate marinade on it. as a result could not enjoy the starter fully.

2. Plain Naan & Chicken Tikka Butter Masala
I really liked the naan. They were really soft, & not overly burnt at places. Also the sprinkled white sesame seed were generous in amount.
Chicken Tikka Butter Masala, although tasting great, was served at best warm. Seemed as if they prepare their common items beforehand & warm it before serving.

3. Butter Naan & Palak Paneer:
Standard taste. Quite loved both. Again the Palak Paneer gravy seemed to be prepared in advance.

4. Chicken Biryani & Mutton Biryani:
Quite good. Not too much oily, at least the plates were not soaking wet from oil after we finished. Chicken & mutton pieces decent. The potato was a bit hard at the center, & the eggs were disappointingly small in size. However considering the price it was nothing to complaint about.

After all these we were quite full & could not try the firni. Next time I visit, surely will do. Overall the experience was a satisfaying one, nothing outstanding though. However the service was far better than that of other restaurants in the vicinity. If not for the biryani one can surely pay a visit for a lunch if they are nearby. I'm sure the food at its price range won't disappoint.
Till then
Happy eating
Cheers.
